Monday's

Gotta love Monday's. Here I sit Kathy wide awake...she was alot of the night compliments of the storms we had all night. At one point during the night I had 2 kids and 2 pets as close to my lap as they could get and 1 child and husband sleeping away.

Around 2am my husband comes out like he is king tut, yelling at the kid to get over it and go to bed, takes the baby and puts her back in bed and treats me like I was an idiot..then he goes back to bed and is snoring in seconds again..and then I was left with 2 kids crying from their rooms and 2 animals still on top of me.

Let me say these were pretty impressive storms, I was even sitting her uncomfrotable by them...so of course the toddler and child that has always been terrified of storms were up.

I love my husband very much, but sometimes he just doesnt get it. He has so many fears in his own life, yet he is so hard on the girls when they show signs of any fear. Not sure what to do there!!!

Ok my early morning rant is over.

LIFE..........?????

Well time as sure flown by in my life....

A year ago I was looking for a house in Florida and packing to move there with my family to start a new life for us as a family....now here almost a year later..I am doing the same thing only in reverse....life sure can throw some curve balls at you.

Here I am loving the warmth and sun and fun of Florida and trying to make it the best for my family, only to find out they are all miserable. My husband has been so depressed that all he wants to do is sleep. The kids love the vacation aspect of Florida and dislike everything else. And I was ignorat to it all...they say ignorance is bliss...well thats not totally true. I knew my husband was miserable and was hoping that he would come around. I was being selfish...I miss my friends and family in Michigan, but I had been away from my best friend the person I see as my sister for 12 years and I was loving being with her...my body loves being warm, I feel younger and have more energy here,I know I sound like a old lady.

I have learned alot though about myself, my marriage, being a mom and wife. Since the day I found out about being pregnant with the twins they were my everything and I gave my everything to protect them and keep them safe and do whats best for them. When I got married and had Kathy I felt the same all over. When we moved down here it was to help out marriage and help us grow as a family, and get away from winter, it was the best thing for my family at that time.

Now what is best for my family is to move back to Michigan. I had a moment there when I thought well I dont really want to go back..but then thought you are a mom and wife and its not about you its about what is best for your family....so here we are selling our house and moving back to Michigan.. I am torn about it...but am doing like I should whats best for my family...but it occured to me...its been forever since its been about me....and the funny thing is I am ok with that....how funny is that??? When did we grow into adults....I missed it....lol

Why Me

We a great week last week while the kids were on spring break. We went to Animal Kingdom on Monday and checked out a local flea market (it of course was mostly touristy type items) Tuesday we had a quiet day at home working on Elaine's diaroma for the Sunshine state readers contest. Wed we had the girls first communion pictures taken and went to dinner(they chose wings) only my kids!!! Thursday we loaded (an I mean loaded up the van) and headed to clearwater to the beach for the day. It was a first for the girls and they had a good time. Elaine was ready to go and headed right out in the water with Dave, they went all the way out to the bouys a few times. Meghan was afraid(I often wonder how I got such a fearful child) Kathy loved the sand and threw it happily for hours yelling "yea" each time she did, but when it came to the water she was not interested at all. She did not like the waves at all, Dave and I took her out in the water a few times and she was not a happy camper, I tried to let her stand were the waves would just wash over her feet and she did not like that, in fact we discovered she could climb me very quickly!!!

On Friday we went to DeLeon State Park, it has a natual spring for swimming. It was pleasant and refreshing after the salt water beach the day before, and Kathy loved the water this day. We didnt get to eat at the sugarmill like we wanted because we got there so late. Compliments of holiday weekend traffic what should have taken us an hour took over 3 hours to get there. So we spent about 3 1/2 hours in the spring, swimming, playing, sitting on the big innertube and then headed home.

Saturday we rested and finished up on Elaine's diaroma for school.

Sunday, Easter Sunday we were planning a nice quiet needed day of board games, Movies whatever the girls wanted as it was the end of spring break for them, and Kathy, Meghan and Mom wake up feeling under the weather. I cooked us a nice simple Easter dinner. Ham, curried potato salad and fresh green beans. We enjoyed the peace and quiet!!

Monday the kids were back to school and Kathy and I were happy as we slept alot of the morning away(both feeling kinda crappy!!)

Tuesday kids off to school and Kathy and I slept again alot of the morning. The kids had their first play practice after school and I didnt need to pick them up till 6pm. During the day Dave started to feel pretty sick too. He went to work and I went off to a parent meeting for the play. Needless to say we pulled back in the drive at the same time, he had been sent home for being sick. Now at this point I am thinking ok we should start feeling better and no one is..I'll give it another day. (I hate going to the doctors if we can let something run its course at home)

Wed the older girls both have over 100 temps sore throats and coughs...so here we are family PJ sick day. Once again I am thinking ok I have been sick since Sun enough is enough..I should be getting better!!! WRONG another sleepless couging miserable sore throat night(I am talking the sore throat where you feel like  you are swallowing rust nails) So this morning I called the doctor and four of us have appointments at 2pm today.

I remember when a doctor would see one or two in a family and treat all if the symptoms were the same...I guess those days are no more. I know everyone is sick, but it kills me to have to pay over 100 for all to be seen and then have topay for everyones scripts. Why do we pay for health care coverage when it still costs so much out of pocket?? I just dont get it!!!!!!

OK enough of my ranting..sorry all

Twins

I love having twins, but I swear they are slowly driving me bonkers. When I was pregnant with them I read everything about twins and what to expect, and boy my girls are nothing like anything I read. They don't get along, they never had their own language, heck for the most part they really don't like each other. We had hoped that moving them into their own bedrooms and giving them their own space would help them learn to get along and appreciate each other. WRONG!!!!

They are on spring brerak this week, so Dave and I thought we would plan some fun activities for them and take advantage of some of the things Florida has to offer other than Disney. Today was the only Disney day we planned and we went to Animal Kingdom. We always try to do what the girls want to see and do at the parks. We wernt even at the park an hour and the girls were fighting, we dont just get arguing ir bickering we get fighting...and then of course when we discipline them the major ATTITUDES start.

I dont know about any of you. but I dont think our attitudes were ever as big as my girls seem to be (and its not just them) I work with 6,7,8 th graders regulary and I am appaled at the attitude the way these kids treat teachers and volunteers and know that our you know whats would have been grass, and my kids know better but yet they still act this way, because they see other kids acting that way and getting away with it. I follow thru with my punishments so my kids know we mean buisness, but alas it doesnt seem to penetrate past the punishment.

They each get their one on one time with Dave and I, they are so different and we treat them different. Punishments and rewards are adapted to each girl. I am so wore out from being a constant referee, uggggg

Ok I have ranted enough..if you have made it this far thanks!!!
