As I sit here pondering where another year has gone, I am met with all the changes and challenges of the last year! 2010 found us in Florida and then back to Michigan! It has been a challenge, but being back with our family and friends is definately a big plus, however snow and ice is not!!!

The girls have had a great school year so far and are keeping me a busy mom! With two choirs, soccer and dance! I love it. I have very much enjoyed being home with my kids for the most part since Kathy was born, I am loving it!

This year has brought me back to being a full time student..fun fun and alot harder than when I was younger! The kids think its great though that I have homework too!!

For 2011 I have made some decisions for my life! I have decided to embrace my true friends and my family with all my heart! I will let go of the pain, anger and disappointment of what loved ones have done to me in the past just go, its not worth it and either are they! I have a wonderful life with great friends who will not stab me in the back for no reason!!! I beleive that on judgement day they will be judged for their wrongdoings! I am also going to start exercising more, I want to be here for my kids!

I hope that 2011 will bring you all love, happiness and peace!

1. What will your Christmas dinner consist of?



Christmas dinner here is big, we do pot luck style...the menu this year is turkey, ham, stuffing, lasagna,scalloped potatoes, mashes potatos, green bean casserole,crab bisque,deviled eggs, fruit, veggies, carmel apple pie, brownies....I think that is about it...we have about 20 people gather at my house!

2. Do you watch commercials or flip through the channels?


me get control of the TV when something is on..never!!! so DVR it is, so no commercials!!!

3. How long will you leave your Christmas decorations up?



They start going up the day after Thanksgiving and stay uo till the epiphany (feast of the kings) then they come down.

4. What movie makes you cry every time you watch it?





5. Do you have a Facebook?

Yes I do..love my facebook..it has allowed me to reconnect with family and friends!!! Feel free to find me there if you want!!

JoAnn we have been best friends for 26 years now!! She is Godmother to all three of my girls!!!

Yes Mackinaw in June when the girls get out of school, Joann is coming from FL we have our cabin and all booked!!!

How we celebrate Christmas

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate



2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Always wrapped



3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? colored everywhere!!!


4. Do you hang mistletoe? Nope. although it may be fun as it grosses my kids out when we kiss!!


5. When do you put your decorations up? If we are putting up an artificial tree day after thanksgiving..if a real tree around the 3rd or 4th of Dec


6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Only one favorite....ummm ok Ham!!! but I really like grandma's lasagna and Lee's deviled eggs...and my carmel apple pie....Our holidays are potluck so we get alot of great foods


7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Up until my mom passed 4 years ago she would make my dad get on the roof on Thanksgiving to put the big star up to signiify the begining of the Christmas season...and then and only then would she start blaring the Christmas music!!


8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? What what truth about Santa :)


9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We open one gift from each other when we get home from Midnight mass...but since Santa hasnt come the majority are Chirstmas Morn


10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Its a heinz 57 variety tree..everything from exquisite glass ornaments to homemade paper ones


11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?Love it if I can look at it....Hate it if I have to go out in it.


12. Can you ice skate? Yes I can....not well but I can


13. Do you remember your favorite gift? my Annie mansion with doll!!


14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family and seeing Christmas in the Childrens's eyes...and also for us its remembering what the holiday is all about...the birth of our Lord.


15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? My million christmas cookies I make I dont make any I dont like!!


16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Driving around looking at lights ( we usually do on my bday after dinner)


17. What tops your tree? A lighted ange that has been on the top of our tree as long as I can remember,she has a beautiful porclin fave and an off white brandenburg lace dress...


18. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? I love to give...but enjoy the homade gifts from my children too!!

My Girls ChristmasPictures!!

Today I decided to share a recipe with you all..when we were in Nassua this pat March we had a curried potato salad and it was awsome!! I have since made it for several occasions for my family and they all like it better than the original potato salad!!!!



Curried Potato Salad

Makes 8 (3/4-cup) servings.



Prep Time: 15 minutes



Cook Time: 15 minutes





2 pounds small Yukon gold potatoes, quartered



1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream



1/3 cup reduced fat mayonnaise



1 1/2 teaspoons Curry Powder



1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt


1 Granny Smith apple, finely chopped (1 cup)



1/2 cup golden raisins



1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro



3 green onions, thinly sliced





1. Bring potatoes to boil in lightly salted water in large saucepot. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes or until potatoes are fork-tender. Drain well. Cool slightly.



2. Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, curry powder and sea salt in large bowl until well blended. Add potatoes and remaining ingredients; toss gently to coat.



3. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
